Giving Increased From Tax
Gift Aid adds a bonus to any money you donate to St Mary’s Church Stretton.
Regular Weekly/Monthly Giving
If you are a U.K. tax payer the Church can claim an extra £2.50 for each £10.00 you give. All you need to do is to take a pack of dated weekly giving envelopes. However, the preferred way of giving is by completing a bankers standing order form. Then all that is required is for the donor to complete a simple declaration form stating that he or she is a U.K. tax payer. Please click here to email the Treasurer for details of how to obtain packs of envelopes and all the necessary forms. You can still give by the above methods even if you are not a tax payer.
Separate packs of envelopes, declaration forms and bankers standing order forms are available for donations direct to St Mary’s Youth Project.
For occasional givers, donations can be made in the envelopes provided at the back of Church or in the pew and, if you are a tax payer, by completing the information required on the envelope. This will enable the Church to recover the tax paid on your donation.
Please note that under the Gift Aid Scheme you must pay an amount of income tax and/or capital gains tax at least equal to the tax that the Church reclaims on your donation in the tax year.
Payroll giving direct from your pay is very simple. You can give as much as you like and donations are tax free on all donations made through the payroll. Contact your Payroll Manager for more information or click on this very useful link to Charities Aid Foundation.
St Mary’s Church will treat all donations as confidential.
